Course Details

This two-day TCP Course meets all the training standards required by the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA). After successfully completing this course, you will become a qualified TCP and receive a TCP Record of Completion Card. To successfully complete this course you must pass both a written exam and an onsite practical test.

Welcome everyone!

Traffic Control is a very unique industry and can be a very rewarding career for anyone. I am excited that I get the chance to teach you the basics to start you off on this path. If you'll be joining me, please pay attention to the following:

1. Bring Appropriate Clothing/Footwear
Day 2 will be a practical day out on the road, make sure you bring clothing appropriate for weather (rain or shine). **You are responsible for bringing your own CSA approved safety footwear with ankle protection** When successful, you and your boots may become more close than you ever thought possible.

2. Food Is Not Provided
Make sure you bring lunch boxes with you. While there are some food vendors nearby, you may not have enough time to go get food during our scheduled breaks.

3. Respectful Learning Environment
Please keep in mind that everyone in the course is there to learn and potentially start a new chapter in their life. This is very important, be a respectful learner, bullying, harassment and disruptions will not be tolerated.

Hi all! My name is Maros and I would love to teach you how to be a successful Traffic Control Person! I started my instructor career in Norway and Slovakia teaching first aid courses and I decided to combine my love for teaching with my passion for safety and Traffic Safety to help people learn and grow in this industry. I am easy-going with some light humor, but knowledgeable and detailed when necessary. Looking forward to meeting you.

Learner participation is a part of this course. Students are expected to be considerate and encouraging of other learners, using appropriate language and behaviour. It is your job to help others learn, just as it is theirs to help you.

Practical expectations:
Students are expected to follow road safety protocol. Students are advised to bring: (1) Weather Appropriate Clothing; (2) Bag Lunch; and (3) CSA-Approved Safety Footwear with Ankle Protection.
